23.5" x 10" x 8". Antique carved and painted wooden Christ santo icon sculpture, likely Spanish colonial from the 18th century or before. Depicts a large Christ with white glass eyes standing with arms held out, and a small figure of a man seated on one outstretched arm. Appears to have once been painted in vivid yellow, red, and green colors. This piece is quite old and wear includes chipped, cracked, and faded paint throughout, residue, discoloration, a detached right arm at the wrist with missing fingers, missing fingers on the left hand, a missing arm and hand on the smaller figure, cracking and brittleness to the thin piece of wood carved as the robe, and holes and cracks in the wood from age. Quite old and fragile historical piece to be treated with care.
