Belgian Mauser Model 1889 Bolt Action Rifle, by Hopkins & Allen, #473H, 7.65x53mm, 30.66'' barrel, blue finish, walnut stock, with leather sling. During the early part of WWI, H&A produced a number of 1889 Mausers - rifles, carbines, and bayonets - for the Belgian government. Considered scarce and seldom seen in America. The top receiver rings are marked ''Hopkins and Allen Arms Co., Norwich, Conn. USA''. Condition is very good retaining 75%-80% thinning and lightly toning blue. Stock with scuffs and dings. Carbon spotting to bright bolt. Magazine floorplate shows mismatched numbers. Action is crisp, bore is fair and should clean somewhat. Ding to barrel jacket just forward of rear sight. Missing ramrod.
