Description
A great German Triumph cartridge gun cane curio. The "L" horn and blackened metal handle is 3" high and 3 3/4" to the side. It unscrews from a metal collar that has inventory numbers and several other hallmarks. A 9mm rim fire cartridge can be inserted at the breech. The cocking lever and trigger are in the handle and all mechanics are in fine working order. The metal shaft is overlaid with chestnut carved in long steps and the piece terminates with an original 2 3/4" metal ferrule that unscrews to clear the barrel for firing, and to access an attached tool for removal of the spent shell. The overall length is 34 1/2" and the condition is excellent. It is ca 1890 and an exact picture of this model is shown on page 334, 32/44, of Dike's Cane Curiosa. It is a wonderfully preserved example. Estimate: $1500-$2500.
