A shagreen cased George II silver three-piece tea caddy set together with twelve spoons, a mote spoon and a pair of sugar tongs the caddies, Charles Woodward, London 1744 Comprising a pair of caddies and a sugar box, of inverted baluster form and oval bellied form, chased with a foliate band with rococo cartouches either side, later crested, alternating feather and fluted lower bodies on spreading bases, the unmarked domed pull-off covers similarly chased and with cast leafy knop finials, contained id a fitted case, the shagreen surface with silver fitments, hinges swing-handled carrying handle to the cover and lock catch and plate to the front, with key, the material covered fitted interior fitted with a matched set of twelve cast front and shell back Hanoverian pattern teaspoons, a shell back mote spoon, maker's mark TS and a pair of sugar nips, different indistinct maker's mark, length of case 33cm, weight 39.5oz.
