Antique 19thC American Victorian Carved Walnut and Marble Turtle Top Center Table. Ca. second half 19thC to possible first quarter 20thC. Excellent, 100% refinished condition throughout, with no chips or cracks on the marble, and no breaks or repairs on the wood. The bottom of the shaped and beveled marble has been reinforced with fiberglass, and the entire surface of the solid mahogany structure has been refinished perfectly, retaining an even matte surface. There is nothing to apologize for with this large and impressive center table. Note the large size. Heavy and sturdy, as it sits this table has absolutely no wobble or movement at all. There is a slight difference of opinion as to this being walnut or mahogany. The grain is unusual, however it is definitely a hard wood.
