The Iron Giant (1999) - Richard Bazley (lead animator) - an original pencil on paper drawing portraying the character Hogarth, as drawn by Richard Bazley. Signed to the bottom right corner. Measuring approximately 32cm x 40.5cm.
Richard Bazley is an Emmy-nominated film director and a storyboard artist. Although now a Director of Live Action and animation, his background is in animation and his credits include Disney’s Pocahontas, Hercules, Tarzan and a lead animator and sequence director on the Warner Bros. film The Iron Giant which was released in 1999. Set during the Cold War in 1957, the film centers on a young boy named Hogarth Hughes, who discovers and befriends a giant alien robot. With the help of a beatnik artist named Dean McCoppin, Hogarth attempts to prevent the U.S. military and Kent Mansley, a paranoid federal agent, from finding and destroying the Giant.
