FOLTZ FAMILY CAST IRON CANNON BARREL, cast with a hollow bore. Found on the Raymond Foltz farm in Page Co., VA.. 19th century. 38" long, 7" dia, 3" bore
Note: Raymond Foltz was a descendent of Noah Foltz who operated the Catherine Furnace at Grove Hill in Page Co. Family tradition indicates that this was a barrel made at the furnace which did not pass proof testing.

Good as-found condition with a 1/12" x 2 1/2" hole at the firing vent.
