***Sarah Belzoni (1783-1870), traveller and amateur egyptologist. Sarah Belzoni accompanied her husband on most of his visits to Egypt, Nubia & Syria (as well as undertaking several of her own excursions), and published her "trifling account of the women of Egypt, Nubia and Syria" in this work. The manuscript section present here is a key to the Masonic symbols, as depicted in the frontispiece. It is dedicated to "the Masonic brethren universally"..
