FREE-BLOWN AND ENGRAVED CHALICE WITH ENCAPSULATED 1842 FOUR-PENCE COIN, colorless, bucket-shape bowl diamond etched "Robert & Elizth Bruce Married Septr 13th 1840" and "A Present From their Affectionate Brother Edward 1858", each within an engraved wreath on opposing sides, the remainder of the bowl is engraved with grape bunches, raised on an applied hollow globular knop containing the silver coin and a circular foot with polished pontil mark. English. Third quarter 19th century. 9 1/4" h, 5 1/4" dia rim, 4 1/4" dia foot.
