FRENCH HAND-CHASED .800 SILVER SWEETMEAT BASKETS, PARIS, C. 1840, PAIR, H 5" (TO HANDLE), DIA 4":Each round basket with a swing handle and floral motif about the whole, and hallmarked at the top of the handle and at the rim with the head of Minerva with 2, also a lozenge-form maker's mark on one enclosing H and another illegible symbol. Provenance, Tuttle & Clark of Detroit and London, purchased March 1940. From the Estate of Catherine Larsen, Adam Woods, Bloomfield Township, Mich.
