ENGLISH CARVED OAK SLANT-FRONT BIBLE BOX, INITIALED 'IM', POSSIBLY 17TH CENTURY, H 10", W 24", D 16":Slant top hinges open to storage. (rev.20080515)

One inch crack at top near the left hinge. 8" crack at top near right hinge. Lid with 6" x 1" repair at the right hinge. This is an old repair. The bottom of the box has a 3" repair at the back left corner. There is an 8" crack on the base near the back right corner. There are 3 holes where the base meets the back panel, two of these holes are each 1" long. Repair on the base at the front right corner. The lock is missing from the front panel. There is a crack at the inside of the front panel. This crack is lifted but is not noticeable from the front of the panel. Deep gouges at the left side of the lid. All the repairs on this box are old repairs not new. TW (rev.20080515)
