Condition report
CONDITION REPORT: Canvas old lining, no tacking edges. Some diagonal cracking through the paint layer in portions of the upper right sky area. Pintomento around the horses head, only visible upon very close visual examination. Otherwise stable in very good condition.
ULTRAVIOLET ANALYSIS: Total inpaints less than 1% of canvas. The diagonal cracking described above, a few of the cracks showing thin in paint. The “ears” of the horse appear to have been repainted, and in general some indications of inpaint or repaint around the horses head (possible that these were done by the artist and not after). Signature area looks good.
RECOMMENDATION: Nothing
FRAME: Mid 20th C. replacement frame.
