Description
STAMPED "E. SUTER", ROCKINGHAM CO., VA LEAD-GLAZED EARTHENWARE CROCK, "1/4" gallon capacity stamp, maker's stamp with star to right and enclosed in an elongated serrated-edge frame, double glazed wide-mouth form with bold broad flat-top rim and four deeply incised medial rings which are placed noticeably lower than on most examples. Attributed to Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery. 1870-1890. 6" h, 5 5/8" dia rim.
