Condition: In fine condition, the colors particularly fresh and bright, some occasional pencil annotations, verso and recto (well away from the image.) Tape hinges remains top edge verso on some pieces. The original jacket is in fairly good condition with some creasing, stray pencil marks and dirt.
Framing: Sold unframed in original portfolio jacket.,
Literature: Recorded and illustrated in the standard text on the original prints of Rouault by Wolfsy, 205-212, Chapon and Rouault, No. 198-205.,
Comments: The print "Amazone" is a trial proof before the plate was cut down. It is in exceptional condition. Vollard abandoned plans to publish this work, with the printing already underway, after reading the text by Andr?? Suar?¿s that was to accompany Rouault's prints and deciding it would offend his American clients. Although the book was not published, the prints were still issued by Vollard.,
