ovoid with shaped collar and strap handle, medium olive glaze with rutile runs at top and bottom of handle, four incised slash marks below neck (possibly indicating four gallons), attached label "4 gallon storage jar…Chandler site 1840-1845", 16 in. 3/8 in. rim chip, line of accretion at base, normal base wear, otherwise excellent condition.
