Report of Lieutenant General U.S. Grant of the Armies of the United States-1864-'65., 8vo pamphlet in self wraps of the above title dated July 22, 1865, hand-sewn binding, 44pp. A very informative report by the Union's top general on his strategy for winning the war by using all the forces at the nation's command to put continual pressure on the Confederate forces throughout the year, with no letup. This is in essence the putting into practice of the theory of all-out war, advocated by Sherman and believed by Grant early in the war.
