Document Signed, as commander of the Eastern Dept., 1p., quarto (7 3/4" by 9"), Headquarters, Boston, October 2, 1778. To Deputy Pay Master Ebenezer Hancock. Some slight separation at the margin of one fold, else Choice Very Fine. Ordering payment to Captain Thomas Urann - a participant in the Boston Tea Party.
"Pay Captain Thomas Urann four hundred thirty dollars for himself and the artificers [skilled mechanics] employed under him in full of their pay for the month of September 1778 - for which this shall be sufficient warrant."
