This Manuscript receipt measures approx. 4" x 7", and is Signed "Thomas Smart, Paymaster", for 24 pounds received of Lieut. Benjamin Pollard "being on Acct of Money advanced to him towards Recruiting the Regiment commanded by Col Edwd. Wigglesworth...." The document is separated into two pieces, and is toned and foxed. Still, this is a neat Revolutionary War item, with named patriots such as Pollard, Wigglesworth, and Smart. Sold "as is."
