"Breaking Cover" and "Full Cry" (titled on frame plates), oil on canvas, 18th century, 24-7/8 x 40-1/8 in.; matching modern gilt wood and composition frames. Signature monogram "JR" added on both (frame plate attribution to "J. Ross", possible reference to James Ross, 1745-1821), craquelure, stretcher marks, both restretched on later stretchers, lined, retouch scattered throughout primarily in sky, limited in figures, affecting less than 10 percent of surface; frames with abrasions. Provenance: The Estate of the Late John Boone, Owensboro, Kentucky
