architectural [capriccio] with figures among classical ruins, unsigned, oil on canvas, late 17th/early 18th century, 40-1/2 x 48-1/4 in. Early 20th century lining, overcleaning possible in central statue, abrasions, craquelure, accretion lower left, two periods of restoration with scattered retouch throughout with less than 10 percent of surface affected; frame with abrasions.
