Description: Clear glass bottle, cylindrical, straight neck. With silver basket bottom and medallion with chain inlaid. 28 cm tall. Approx. 750 ml capacity.Medallion on bottle engraved with the monogram "JL" and believed to have belonged to Jack London, possibly for use on his sailboat "Roamer." From the estate of Judge John E. Browne. Vallejo-born John A. Browne (1859-?), one of the organizers, and second Commodore, of the Vallejo Yacht Club, which London joined in 1910 and where he kept his sailboat "Roamer." Judge Browne (he was justice of the peace for Vallejo township from 1898-1921) and his family were friends of the Londons.
