ISAMU NOGUCHI (AMERICAN 1904-1988), BRUSH/INK ON PAPER, ORIENTAL FIGURE, SIGNED. SHEET 48 X 36" (123 CM X 91.5 CM), FRAMED & GLAZED 50 X 38" PROVENANCE: ESTATE PHILLIP MASON, TALLAHASSEE FL

The paper is ever so slightly toned; scratch to paper top center; otherwise in overall good condition. The work has not been examined out of the frame and at this point we really would leave it to the buyer. The framing is very heavy, perhaps 50 to 60 pounds, the back is a sheet of masonite, glued and screwed down. There is no matt, I can not determine how the work is affixed, if at all, since I do not see any adhesive residue. The work has been in the family since at least the early 1950’s. It had a companion piece that we sold several years ago. The Noguchi Foundation is tracking that one and I am sure this one also.
