We are proud and happy to present you the Nadya Lévi Collection (lot 18 to 27), including a very fine selection of Ashanti dolls, Bassa masks, and a Kota reliquary figure collected circa 1910 (lot 23). A nice group of artifacts from Siberia will be offered for sale as well, including this large Nanai figure (lot 11). Amongst other highlights, a rare Kiavia mask from the Mambila People, similar to the Mambila mask that belongs to the Barbier-Mueller collection (inv.1018-76), lot 59. A superb Yombe Phemba figure, published in Neyt: Les centres de styles, in Bastin: Utotombo and in Dartevelle, Plisnier: Pierre Dartevelle et les arts premiers. In the modern and design section, an early collage by French artist Georges Valmier dated 1921 ( lot 12), a beautiful relief by Jesús Rafael Soto (lot 62), a looped side table by American designer Paul Evans (lot72) and a unique coffee table in oak and bronze by Emiel Veranneman made for French artist Emile Gilioli (lot 77)
We end this auction with the collection of Ben Tursch, a close friend of Willy Mestach, and Marc "Mac" Leo Félix. From 1969 to 1974, Ben made numerous trips to collect objects in Southeast Asia on board his boat, spending many months scouring the islands of Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Marquesas Islands and at Lake Sentani, where he traded and acquired many pieces (lot 104 to 115).
