16" x 19.5". Framed antique woodcut engraving of a Dutch catchpenny, which was a cheaply produced comic from likely the 19th century. This one is titled "Kinderlijke Speelen" (Childish Play) and has small captions under each of the eight panels. Published by J Noman book printer. As was typical of many older catchpennies, this one is messily colored with blots of red and white ink. Wear to the catchpenny includes typical wear to the paper from age such as small creases and rough edges, some small tears, and some spits of discoloration. There is a mark at the top of the paper that appears to be writing or a signature though it is faded. Other wear includes partial separation at the corners of the frame as well as some small marks on the glass.
