OUTSTANDING ESTATE BOOK/COMICS AUCTION

Personal book collection of the Harry B. Warner Jr. Estate of Hagerstown, MD. Harry Warner was born in Hagerstown in 1922. He is known around the world for his works and letters of comment to many writers of Fanzines. He began publishing a Fanzine in 1939 entitled "Horizon" which he published for over 50+ years and earned two Hugo awards. This auction includes over 300+ quality lots including comics (first eight issues of New Fun Comics, series one and #1 of Famous Funnies and others); numerous children’s’ books; many children’s and adolescent series books in dust jackets (over 30+ Uncle Wiggley’s); numerous magazines including Smith & Street Sports pulps from the 1930’s; a large collection of sports related magazines including Sporting News in orig. paper wrappers from 1950’s-1980’s and others; Big Little books including the first Dick Tracey; hundreds of Science Fiction paperbacks, many early including: L.P. Lovecraft plus other books too numerous to mention. It must be noted that most of this collection is in wonderful condition.
