Qian Yongming (August 29, 1885 - June 19, 1958), a native of Wuxing (now Huzhou), Zhejiang Province, was a banker and politician for the Jiangsu and Zhejiang zaibatsu of the Republic of China, and a member of the National Economic Committee of the National Government from 1933 to 1937. In January 1946 (35th year of the Republic of China) after the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Qian Yongming attended the Political Consultative Conference (the old CPPCC) in Chongqing. After that, he returned to Shanghai and became the chairman of Zhabei Hydropower Company, China Salt Company and Shanghai News Newspaper. In October 1947, he was elected as a delegate to the Constitutional National Convention, and in April 1948, he was elected as a member of the National Convention for the Promotion of the US Dollar Public Debt. He moved to Hong Kong in 1949, just before the liberation of Shanghai. In March 1950, Qian Yongming transferred the company to Taiwan, and later he retired due to illness. On June 19, 1958 (R.O.C. 47), he died in Taipei City after a long illness. He was 74 years old.
Mr. Shih Huiang, a Taiwanese real estate tycoon, and Qian Yongming are very good friends, and they are both very obsessed with Chinese art. Among them, Mr. Qian once gave his beloved paintings by Zhang Daqian and Qi Baishi to Mr. Shih, while Mr. Shih gave a Ming Dynasty gold Buddha statue as a gift Through in-depth communication, Mr. Shi's children entrusted our company with the auction of these treasures.
