"Quilts at the Shoe" Auction 2005

Our 2005 event will again be held at The Huntington Club located within The Ohio State University (football) Stadium. Quilts by local quilters and well-known fiber artists range in price from $50 and up. Surprise celebrity auctioneers will join Andy Geiger/Former OSU Athletic Director, Thad Matta/OSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach, Katie Smith/former OSU basketball star and Olympian Gold Medalist, Rick Smith/former OSU men’s basketball captain and graduate assistant coach, Ellen Tressel/wife of OSU Head Football Coach Jim Tressel, Dave Kaelin/WNCI-FM, and Mindy Drayer/WCMH. The mission of Kids 'n Kamp is to provide children who have been diagnosed with cancer unique programs and services that focus on their emotional, educational and social well being and enable them to engage in family recreational activities. Kids 'n Kamp is not a United Way agency and therefore must rely on the generosity of corporations and individuals to maintain their programs and services. Kids 'n Kamp began in 1982 when a handful of dedicated volunteers coordinated a weekend summer camp for children with cancer. Over the years the group has grown, offering programs throughout the year with a single goal in mind: helping children and their families, whenever and wherever that help is needed. Kids 'n Kamp offers a range of programs and services free of charge to children, teens and young adults throughout Ohio. Many of these children are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments for their disease. Group members also include children in remission from cancer who offer hope and encouragement to newly diagnosed children.
