This auction consists exclusively of items from the Las Palmas estate of Douglas B. and Margaret Cullen Marshall. The Marshalls were owners of the historic Gleannloch Farms, which was world-famous for its fine Egyptian Arabian horses, including the legendary stallion Morafic. Items include Orientalist paintings and bronzes, Arabian horse art, Bedouin saddles and tack, gifts to the Marshalls from Middle Eastern royalty and dignitaries, Islamic metalwork, vintage Egyptian copper, silver and brass, Bedouin ethnographic items from Jordan, Syria and Oman, porcelain, art-glass, jewelry and items collected by the Marshalls from throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
The auction benefits The Pyramid Society, an organization of which Douglas B. Marshall was a founder and first president.
