EAC Gallery proudly presents one of the largest collections of the hand painted baseballs of George Sosnak, offered at auction for the first time.
George Sosnak (1924-1992), a former minor league umpire, was renowned for his extraordinarily detailed and colorful hand painted baseballs commemorating people and events in the history of the sport. He is recognized as the foremost baseball folk artist of the 20th century. These artistic gems are a valued part of every major baseball collection, including the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Most of these baseballs feature autographs of legendary baseball stars, including Frankie Frisch, Goose Goslin, Pie Traynor, Max Carey, Waite Hoyt, Joe Medwick, Charles Gehringer, Edd Roush, Lloyd Waner, Early Wynn, Luke Appling, Al Kaline, Jim Bunning, Norm Cash, Chuck Dressen and Sparky Anderson. All autographed baseballs accompanied by certification from PSA/DNA.
