Description
A very good large silver eagle cane on bamboo. The substantial silver handle is 3" high, 4 1/2" to the side, and 1 2/3" at its thickest. It depicts a detailed eagle with dark brown glass eyes and distinctive curved beak. The back of its head fashioned like the root top of the bamboo shaft it is mounted on. The thick bamboo shaft terminates with a 7/8" replaced brass ferrule. The overall length is 35 1/3" and the condition is very good. Although the silver is unmarked, the piece may be Japanese, ca 1895. It is a very nice silver figural example. Estimate: $900-$1300.
