Description
A very nice ivory cane of the Liberty Bell. The elephant ivory pistol grip handle is 5" high and 1 1/8" at its widest. The top portion is carved with rope patterns and then the Liberty Bell is depicted in relief under an arc of thirteen stars, representing the thirteen original States when the United States was born. There is a 3/4" silver collar that shows traces of original gold wash. The shaft is smooth partridgewood that ends with a 1 1/4" bi-metal ferrule. The overall length is 38 1/2" and the condition is very good. It is American and was probably fashioned around the 1876 Centennial of America. It is a nice patriotic example. Estimate: $700-$900.
