A musician at heart, he looked for venues.Autograph letter signed "Jacques Offenbach" to a colleague, s.l.n.d. 1 p.1/2 in-8°, head printed of the "Théâtre de la Gaité". Beautiful piece. He opened a literary and musical competition at the "Théâtre de la Gaité" and asked his colleague to be part of the Jury which already included Thomas; Bizet, Reyer, Dumas.
