Post-Rev. War to Civil WarWar Of 1812 Period Group Of 6 British Military Buttons
c. 1815, Group of 6 British Buttons, mostly military, excavated in the North America, Average Fine.
This lot of brass buttons, measuring 22 to 25mm, some of which were originally gilt, includes:
1. A crowned “3” surrounded by “West India Regiment” (made by Firmin & Sons, London); 2. a crowned lighthouse surrounded by “Board of Trade” (made by E. Stillwell & Son, London); 3. a crown surrounded by “Bahamas Police” (made by V. & R. Blakemore, Birmingham); 4. an abstract feather design (made by Robinsons); and two others. All except the Board of Trade button have their original shanks. A great lot of early buttons, some of which exhibit some corrosion from having been buried, but otherwise these are in nice condition.
