with broad fullered blade double-edged towards the point, etched with portrait rondels at the forte (worn), nielloed silver hilt of characteristic form, decorated with scrolls of foliage within beadwork frames, eared pommel, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard with four silver mounts, the outer faces decorated en suite with the hilt, the inner faces with further designs including a tughra, the date, a serpent and a fowl
