Gray overseas cap worn by an SS cavalry officer. The front center above flap displays a 1934 pattern machine woven Nazi eagle with swastika in silver bullion. A patinaed Totenkopf (death head skull) is affixed beneath. The inverted "V" soutache flanking the Totenkopf indicates service with the Cavalry. The scalloped front panel and the top side panel are edged with silver-gray stitching indicating an officer's rank. The inner lining evidences moderate wear with a couple of tears and some staining near size black stamped "57" leaving only some of the manufacturer's marks. Generally in very good condition.
