TANKARD: A tankard is a form of drinkware consisting of a large, roughly cylindrical, drinking cup with a single handle. Tankards are usually made of silver or pewter, but can be made of other materials, for example wood, ceramic, or leather. A tankard may have a hinged lid, and tankards featuring glass bottoms are also fairly common. Tankards are shaped and used similarly to beer steins. Covered tankards fell out of fashion in 19th century England resulting in a number of them being converted to other roles such as jugs.

GEORGE II: George II (George Augustus; German: Georg August; 30 October/9 November 1683-25 October 1760) was King of Great Britain and Ireland, Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg (Hanover) and a prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire from 11 June 1727 (O.S.) until his death in 1760. Born and brought up in northern Germany, George is the most recent British monarch born outside Great Britain. The Act of Settlement 1701 and the Acts of Union 1707 positioned his grandmother Sophia of Hanover and her Protestant descendants to inherit the British throne. In 1705, George married Caroline of Ansbach, with whom he had eight children. After the deaths of George's grandmother and Anne, Queen of Great Britain, in 1714, George's father, the Elector of Hanover, ascended the British throne as George I. In the first years of his father's reign as king, Prince George was associated with opposition politicians until they rejoined the governing party in 1720.

WHY is it BENEFICIAL to EAT from SILVER UTENSILS?: If a set of silverware is used when eating, the human body becomes less susceptible to colds and viruses. The action of silver ions is in some ways identical to antibiotics, but silver, unlike them, does not destroy beneficial microflora. While the plague was raging in European countries in the Middle Ages, those who ate from such dishes remained unharmed. In Russia, Orthodox churches had a tradition of giving communion from silver utensils, using a silver spoon. This made it possible to avoid intestinal infections, which were not common here. Contact with silver can destroy almost all pathogenic microbes.
