Christopher Makos (American, b.1948) "Makos Optical Affairs" Diptych Acrylic, Collage on Canvas. Colorful Acrylic, Silkscreen Print and Collage on Canvas | Optical Affairs Series 5555 sunglasses. Both are signed by Christopher Makos | dated 1991. Each Canvas: 50 inches (127 cm) x 70 inches (178 cm). Provenance: Christopher Makos, New York, NY in 1991. Christopher Makos (born 1948) is an American photographer and artist. He apprenticed with photographer Man Ray in Paris and collaborated with Andy Warhol, whom he showed how to use his first camera. Warhol called Makos the �most modern photographer in America�. Makos would eventually become a central and trusted member of Warhol�s inner circle. For this reason, he features heavily in the Netflix series The Andy Warhol Diaries. His work has been exhibited internationally, including the Guggenheim Bilbao and the Tate Modern in London.
