Description
A Pennsylvania Chippendale Figured Mahogany Pembroke Table, Fourth Quarter 18th Century. Each having a rectangular top with hinged drop leaves above a molded frieze to either end, fitted with a single dovetailed drawer with incising to front, raised on Marlborough legs with outside molded edge, with inner chamfering, joined by a X-Stretcher. Tulip poplar and pine secondary wood and mahogany flying rails.
Dimensions: Height 27 1/2in; width closed 20in; width open 37 3/4in; depth 28in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface with warm color. General marks, wear, abrasions and surface scratches throughout. Small circular patch repair to the top of the front right leg. The X-stretcher with an old break and repair. A few breaks and repairs to the Marlborough foot facings. No key.
