The Reluctant Dragon, "How to Ride a Horse" Goofy Courvoisier Production Cel Setup (1941). The Reluctant Dragon is a 1941 live-action/animated film produced by Walt Disney, directed by Alfred Werker for live-action and Hamilton Luske for animation. The film was essentially a tour of the then, new Walt Disney Studios facility in Burbank, CA. Most of the film is live-action, with four short animated segments inserted into the running time: a specially-produced black-and-white segment featuring the "Casey Junior" train from Dumbo; and three Technicolor cartoons: "Baby Weems", "How to Ride a Horse", and the extended-length short, "The Reluctant Dragon".

Presented in this lot is a terrific Courvoisier setup featuring Goofy from the "How to Ride a Horse" segment. The characters are trimmed to image, paired with a airbrush background and matted to an image size of 11-1/4" x 9", the character cels measure approx. 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" and 4-1/2" x 4-1/2". Cel was restored back in 1980 according to the notation on the back. Some glue spots, areas of paint separation and cracking, and yellowing to the trimmed character cels.
