A George III (1715-1830) flame figured mahogany and satinwood crossbanded and inlaid serpentine fronted sideboard.

This handsome sideboard appears to be of British manufacture.

Inlaid throughout with stringing and banding, the raised stepped back with striped terminals and a brass gallery rail having three baluster turned pillar supports and with a later drapery curtain, the frieze with three drawers flanked by a pair of deep drawers each simulating two graduated drawers and one of these drawers with cellaret fittings, the drawers having lion mask ring drop handles, flanked by inlaid terminals with conch shell medallions and foliate festoons and ending in tapered square legs with tapering bell flowers and spade feet.

Appears in very good condition for age. There is one ring stain on the right side top. No breaks, loose joints or repairs. Consignor did not know the history of where or when her father bought this piece.
