白玉質，緻密溫潤，略有褐色沁。帶板呈長方形，正面起窄立邊框，雙層鏤雕，以穿 花麒麟紋為主題。麒麟踏行於山巔，橢圓頭，圓眼，山形眉，長鼻，鼻旁伸出雙觸 鬚，頂雙鹿角，呈昂首狀，髯髮上衝，身軀遒勁有力，獅子尾。背脊飾有尖銳鋸齒形 及斜格鱗紋，並飾三道似翼火焰紋相間。周邊滿飾纏枝靈芝仙草，底襯繁複卷雲錦地 紋，契合皇家品味。

腰帶束衣，古來有之。唐宋元明時期，釘綴玉質帶組成的玉革帶，一直是帝王、官吏 使用革帶中的最高等級。明代規制因襲唐宋，於明洪武時規定帝、后的袞服、禮服， 及一品官員的朝服，可使用帶有玉的革帶，即玉帶。革帶上一般要釘帶，其選用材料 因身分等級的不同而相異。洪武二十六年明確規定，文武官員的公服腰帶：「一品用 玉，二品用犀，三、四品用金，五品用銀鈒花，六、七品用銀，八、九品用鳥角。」 因此，明代玉革帶之質地成為帝王、職官品秩等級的標誌之一。本件帶板以浮雕、鏤 雕技法雕製而成，凹陷底部採多層次錦紋襯托出主題紋飾，達到「花下壓花」的多層 透雕效果，營造出立體畫面。整體刀法剛勁有力，造型生動，麒麟肌肉飽滿，線條棱 角分明，技法精緻嚴謹，應屬皇室貴族服裝腰帶飾品。
