帶扣白玉質，質地通透，帶有些許褐色沁，古樸典雅。鉤呈琵琶形，鉤身雕琢荷塘生 機蓬勃之景，碩大荷葉與嬌嫩荷花相映成趣。扣呈橢圓形，正面微凸，結合鏤雕及陰 線刻等技法飾海東青琢雁圖。大雁展翅飛翔，長頸尖喙，身姿豐滿，穿行於荷塘間， 荷葉碩大，荷花搖曳生姿。右上方一隅海東青身形嬌小，側身回首，彰顯出兇猛矯健 的力量感。

海東青又名鶻鳥、鷹鵠和吐鵠鷹，主要居於黑龍江下游地區，飼養後可用於捕殺天鵝 和大雁。遼代帝王每年皆派人至女真等部落捕捉或索要海東青，用於春捺獵捕大雁。 此種獵捕方法，至金代成為捺缽制度，又稱「春水」。以海東青啄雁圖為主題之玉器 在遼、金、元極爲盛行。而帶扣是古人用來固定衣帶的配件。本件作品將頗具特色之 狩獵習俗呈現於帶扣裝飾，別具匠心。細觀之，整體形象生動，雕工嚴謹規矩，具極 高藝術欣賞價值。
