FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. After his presidency, Roosevelt embarked on an expedition to South America. He and Colonel Candido Rondon partnered to explore and map the Rio da Duvida ("River of Doubt"); together, they navigated over 900 miles of unmapped territory in just two months.
