Item Details

Description

American Boston School Federal eglomise painted parcel gilt mahogany banjo clock in the manner of Aaron Willard (American 1757-1844), 19th century, having an acorn finial, painted dial with Roman numerals, painted trunk and lower door depicting Aurora in her chariot, apparently unmarked.

Approximate dimensions: h. 33.5", w. 10", d. 4".

Condition

Damage to finial's plinth, later decoration to glass panels, no apparent cracks to glass panels, weight is not attached, untested - would recommend professional servicing, key is present, freshly gilded.
