Japanese and American. 1950s/1960s. Measuring tapes and tape measures are the same but different. Measuring tapes first came into use in the 1700s for the purpose of tailoring, with most becoming popular in the 1920s. They have cloth measures that pull out and often have whimsical designs such as eggs, fruit, faces, or bellhops, to name a few. Tape measures, on the other hand, like those we all use in our homes, are made primarily of metal with retractable metal spring locks. The mottled brownish piece is the sewing kit. The apple represents a cross collectible- a tape measure and reference to "Dodge" on its side. Marked, on bottom of apple. Marked, "Japan", on tape of some. Most are unmarked.

Surface scuffs and scratches are present on all pieces. Pear figure is cracked at the back.
