The hand painted artist-signed scene of 18th century French courtly lovers in a landscape with ruins is framed in brass and incorporates a clock dial and animated silver figures of putto in movement with the ticking of the timepiece. The brass frame painting is raised on a nice sienna marble plinth. The painting is signed by the artist upper right. The case is stamped Garden Party and fabr suisse for the Swiss timepiece. The period is circa 1920s.
