Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A rare and quite remarkable gray stoneware vessel of a tall, cylindrical form painted with linear and geometric motifs as well as incised parallel dashes, all sitting upon an annular foot. Size: 5" Diameter x 6" H (12.7 cm x 15.2 cm)

Condition
Professionally repaired and restored, but all done expertly and very difficult to notice. Chipping to rim and abrasions to surface as shown, but otherwise liberal remains of painted and textured decoration. Rich earthen encrustations throughout.
