Description
second half 19th century, 59 x 85 cm, South Persia, Kerman

The face of an Afshar single bag. The white field presents two large palmettes and two chevron-shaped abstract dragon figures as well as five star-shaped blossoms, one amulet and a tiny human figure in the lower right corner. The connecting panel woven in the sumakh technique is preserved at the upper end, while a remnant of the red kilim back survives at the bottom.

Slight signs of wear, good overall condition.
