South Carolina, contemporary, large Edgefield style jug, extremely elaborate kaolin and manganese slip decorated cotton field scene, nine African American men, women, and children performing various tasks, trees and cabins in the background, "Cotton Jug No. 1" script under one applied ridged strap handle, "Bayne Maker, S.C." under the other, collared tooled spout, 19-1/2 in.; small Edgefield style jug, kaolin and manganese slip decoration depicting two African Americans on opposing sides of jar, one smoking a pipe with depictions of tobacco plants, "Bayne Maker S.C." script under applied ridged strap handle, collared tooled rim, 10-1/4 in.
