Alfred Hair (African American, 1941-1971). An original diptych oil painting on Upson board. A Florida Highwayman work depicting a tropical landscape with the silhouette of a palm tree adorned with Spanish moss, set against the orange-red golden hues of a "Fire Sky" sunrise or sunset. Painted in the style of the 20th-century Indian River School and its founder, Albert (Beanie) Backus (1906-1990), who assisted in the foundation of the Florida Highwaymen movement. Each signed at lower right. Presented in a rustic wood frames.

Condition: Good overall vintage condition with mild surface wear and toning. Frames having average storage wear to edges and corners.
